PROJECTS

Electric Guitar Close-Up

Black Tele

This Telecaster or Partscaster was my latest build.

I upgraded all the hardware, complete rewire including adding a Humbucker with push/pull pot for coil splitting.

Fairly simple build but this guitar is a pleasure to play.

Epoxy & Bullets P Bass

This project started out as a Precision bass body that I had forgotten about.

It was left in my shed for years and had, at some point got wet and it had split, so I came up with the idea of building a bass with epoxy resin, this took me a few months to make, I decided to add some bullets in the epoxy and go with a sort of rat/barn find look.

Overall I am super happy with how this turned out, the only downside, epoxy is very, very heavy! So not great for gigging but looks awesome!!

Custom DP Guitars ST

A recent build, a Strat style guitar.

Mahogany body, maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard.

Finished in a cherry red stain with a semi gloss finish, it looks stunning, the pictures don't do it justice.

Vintage Fender wiring powering Warman Texas Hot pickups so sound as good as it looks!

SRV Strat Replica

I have always loved Stevie Ray Vaughan, so when I saw a tobacco sunburst in a charity shop my mind was made up I had to make a replica of Stevie's iconic Number One.

Many, many hours were spent trying to get the relic-ing as close as I could.

Once that was done I re-wired it and upgraded the pickups. I reliced and aged the hardware and plastics and added the all important decals.

EVH B/W Frankenstrat

Again I am a huge fan of Eddie Van Halen and always wanted a Frankenstrat Replica but could never afford one.

So I decided to make one, again the paintwork and relic-ing took me a good few weeks to get right, I wanted to try and keep it as close to how Eddie did his, so used similar spray cans, not special guitar paint and didn't apply a top coat of lacquer because Eddie didn't.

I made a single ply scratch plate again like the original and again aged all the hardware and plastics.

One of these days I want to make a replica of the red Frankenstrat!
